Kang Gary

Kang Hee-gun (Korean: 강희건, Hanja: 姜熙建; born February 24, 1978), better known by his stage name Garie (Korean: 개리, often spelled as Gary) is a South Korean rapper, songwriter, lyricist, record producer, dancer, entertainer, promoter, television personality, restaurateur and founder of Leessang Company. He is member of hip-hop duo, Leessang. He is also currently a cast member of the variety show Running Man. He is also an avid skateboarder.
Gary was born on February 24, 1978. Gary's family consists of his mother, his father, and his brother. Back when Gary was still in school. He was more interested in dance than music and wanted to become a Korean celebrity. Because Gary's nickname in middle school was "Geh", AKA "dog," he made his performing name "Garie" or "Gary." During his high school years, Gary performed as a back-up dancer and also won dance competitions. Gary also went to Yongin University, but later was expelled. At the age of 20, Gary started boxing for 10 years and became an amateur boxer. He was also an 8th degree black belt in martial arts.
